Editorial Services

Little Critics offers private, child-led reader feedback for authors and publishers of children's books. This service is based on how one real young reader experiences a story, with parental oversight and support to ensure care, clarity, and ethical boundaries throughout the process.

How Our Process Works

Our Little Critic reads attentively and slowly, noticing where a story draws him in and where his attention drifts. He pays close attention to logic, clarity, and detail, as well as to how the writing itself feels to read. As he describes it:

"When I read a book for feedback, I read it the same way I read for myself. I notice when the story is exciting and when I start to lose interest. I notice when something doesn't make sense yet, when the logic breaks, or when a detail doesn't add up later. I also notice sentences that are hard to follow or words that feel too grown-up."

After reading, he shares what he noticed honestly—without trying to decide whether a book is "good" or "bad." A parent then helps organize these observations, provide context, and translate them into clear, usable feedback for authors and publishers, while keeping the reader's perspective intact.

All feedback is private, non-promotional, and clearly separated from our public reviews. We don't promise praise. We offer careful attention, honesty, and a child's perspective taken seriously.
