About Us

We’re a close-knit family living in the foothills of Altadena, in California surrounded by books, hills, and a lot of ongoing conversations.

We’re cross-cultural, avid readers, and serious lovers of stories in all forms. We devour books, movies, shows, and games. We talk constantly about how stories shape the way we see the world. Reading, for us, is rarely quiet. It usually turns into questions, disagreements, side notes, and remixes.

Little Critics grew out of that habit and out of listening closely to our 11 year old son. He has been sharing his thoughts on stories for years, first informally and then more deliberately. What began as family conversations about books slowly turned into written reflections, and more recently into offering thoughtful feedback on projects.

At first, this feedback stayed close to home and found its way into our own work and projects. Over time, friends and acquaintances began asking our son to read drafts and share his perspective, and those conversations naturally grew into the child-led editorial services we offer today.

We don’t list our full names or use photos of ourselves on this site. That’s a choice we’ve made for privacy, especially since a child is at the heart of this work. But we want you to know: we are very real people, living real lives, reading real books, and having real conversations.

And yes, Fuzzball (pictured above) is absolutely our cat. He appears in meetings, sits on manuscripts, and believes every book is improved by being slept on.

Little Critics grew from our everyday life: reading together, paying attention, and taking a child’s thoughts seriously. We’ve even co-written and published a children’s book together.
